Miguel Barceló. The african work

This book accompanies an exhibition which focuses on the twenty years Miquel Barceló has spent frequenting Mali. The work he has produced there, mainly on paper, represents a very distinctive body of work. As well as the works on paper, the current exhibition includes canvases, sketchbooks, sculptures and ceramics. The experience of the landscape and the harshness of the climate there have no doubt influenced his work especially in the series that has become known as his "white paintings".
