Soho. The rise and fall of an artitsts´ colony

This book documnents how a little-known industrial neighbourhood in New York untentionally became -for a brief period- a nexus of creative activity. Taking advantage of loft occupancy laws that allowed artists lo live where they worked, a band od entreprising people began settling in New York´s SoHo in the 14960s, renovating industrial spaces for personal use. Fueled by word-to-mouth, the area soon grew to be a center for artistic cration. And New York´s one-of-a-kind urban artists´ colony was born
