Cindy Sherman. A play of selves

This is the first work I´ve ever done that was consciously autobiographical. I first used cut-out figures for an animated film (Doll Clothes, 1975) of a paper-doll of myself. Once the characters were cut up I realized they could interact with one another. I don´t remember exactly how I thought of splitting myself into these characters...
